Norman The Grinch?

One morning while I was getting ready for work, I noticed Norman was not around nor could I hear him.   I came downstairs to this:

After I put the lights back on, he decided they looked better off:

Other Trips To Groovy Grooming

First Trip To The Groomers

We take Norman to Groovy Grooming in Shaker Heights. The girls there love him.  These are from his first trip to the groomer ... He just got a shampoo and bandana:

And after we picked him up, we went for a walk around Shaker Lake:

Getting Bigger At 10 Weeks

Norman's First Bath

Catchin' Some Zzzzzzzzz

From an early age, Norman enjoyed sleeping during the day (probably because he was up all night)

And because he kept us up, I began taking naps:

Norman's First Walk

Norman wasn't a big fan of going on walks at first.   In fact, he flat out refused to leave the driveway. This would later require me to carry him at least 2 blocks before he would reluctantly begin to follow me.   Thankfully, he got over it and enjoys walks now.   This was from Norman's first walk at Horseshoe Lake:

First Morning At Home

The Trip Home and Settling In

We picked up Norman early Friday evening on November 4, 2011;  he was 8 weeks old.   He was definitely anxious leaving his litter and nervous for his first car ride.  Frankly, I think he hated it; we made it one block before he started to cry.  We stopped so that Teri could drive and I would hold onto him for the ride home.   He eventually settled down and fell asleep.   I think it's fair to say that car ride was the ONLY one he did not like.

Once we arrived, Norman checked out his new home but was definitely uneasy with the transition.

Eventually, he just went to sleep (but not before doing his business on our new carpet.)

Picking Out His Parents

We've been told that you do not pick out your dog, instead, your dog picks you.  While we were fortunate enough to get pick of the litter, what really happened was Norman picked us. When the other puppies wanted to play and run around, Norman came up to us and did not leave our side.  Our choice was pretty easy.

A Brand New Norman

Norman (and his litter mates) before he became the ball of energy he is today.   Hard to believe it's already been 1 year.

Welcome to the Adventures of Norman

Norman Schwinn -- yes, his middle name is referring to the bike -- was born September 8, 2011, in Kent, Ohio.  For the past 1 year, he has been an absolute joy and excellent companion.  This blog is mainly for our family to post pictures, videos and adventures of Norman throughout his life with us.  We are most likely "weird dog people," but, perhaps, you may enjoy him as well.
